Pubblicato: Lunedì 26 ottobre 2020 da Sergio Dellavalle

Dear Students,

due to the issues related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the meeting of the course unit on Principle of Constitutional Law (Module I) of the 29th of October 2020 will be held on Webex, starting at 1:00 pm. The link to join the meeting is: https://unito.webex.com/meet/sergio.dellavalle.

The extraordinary exam session on Module I on the 6th of November 2020 is reserved for those who are officially enrolled at the University of Turin. As a result, they have access to the Campusnet website of the course unit and can sign up for the exam. Those who have still to complete the enrolment procedure do not have to worry: they can take the exam at one of the official exam dates, starting with the 16th of December 2020.

The extraordinary exam session on Module I of the 6th of November 2020 applies a specific rule: in contrast with the usual procedure according to which the result of an exam can be simply rejected and a resit exam can be taken without prejudice, the scores obtained in the extraordinary session of the 6th of November 2020 will be taken into account to build the average with the scores of the resit exam. Therefore, on the 6th of November, if you are not sure of the quality of your work, you should not submit it via email: once I have received it, I will also evaluate it according to the above-mentioned rules. But, if you do not submit it, it is as if you would not have taken part in the exam; in other words, you do not need to cancel your registration. The scores of the extraordinary exam session of the 6th of November 2020 will be uploaded as an Announcement (Avviso) on the Campusnet website of the course unit.

The overall grade of the course unit on Principles of Constitutional Law is fixed as the average of the partial scores obtained, respectively, in the exams on Module I and Module II. In order to pass the overall exam, none of both parts should be evaluated as inadequate.

To have the overall grade registered, those who have already passed the exams on Module I and Module II before the first official exam session have nonetheless to sign up for one of the official exam dates and indicate in the note the grades as well as the dates on which you have taken the exams on Module I and Module II. In case that the scores of the partial Modules are not specified in the note the registration cannot be guaranteed.

The first official exam session will be held on the 16th of December 2020. The exams on Module I and Module II will both simultaneously take place on that day and will be both take-home exams. However, they will be organized and evaluated separately.

Both the exams on Module I on the 6th of November and on the 16th of December 2020 will be held according to the following rules. At 9:00 am (Turin time = GMT + 1) on each of the beforementioned dates the questions will be uploaded on the Campusnet website of the course unit under “Avvisi”. No email will be sent. You will have then time until 9:00 pm (Turin time = GMT + 1) on each of the beforementioned dates to send back your text with the answers. The text must be sent in Word format and as an attachment to an email (dellavalle@unito.it). All text sent later than at the above-mentioned time or in a format different than Word will not be taken into account. The exam will consist of four open questions on the contents of Module I. The dimension of your answers, taken together, shall not exceed 1,600 words (that means, approximatively, 400 words per answer, but you can also weight the distinct answers differently). All texts that exceed that dimension will not be taken into account. The answers should not be a “copy and paste” of the related parts of the file containing the arguments of Module I. On the contrary, you have to express the answers with your own words. Every form of plagiarism that exceeds 20 % of the submitted text will result in a fail.

Kind regards,

Sergio Dellavalle
