Programma
After its heyday in the 1970s and 80's, Law and literature has progressively grown including among its aims a concrete educative ambition.
During the lessons, the course will explore the many ways in which scholars have brought law and literary studies into strict conversation, especially distinguishing the "law in literature" and the "law as literature" approaches.
A consistent part of the course will be devoted to the analysis of Shakespearean tragedies.

Note
+++ TO THE KIND ATTENTION OF LAW AND LITERATURE STUDENTS +++
Dear students,
because of the current public health crisis and in accordance with the decision of the University's executive council, lessons will be suspended until April 3rd. Taking into account this exceptional circumstance and in order to allow you to choose more freely the most preferred examination modality, I made some important changes to the course. Now, you can pass the exam in two ways:
1) Writing a paper of 6.000 total words on a topic of your choice linked with the course program (attending mode).
2) Having an oral examination based on the following textbook (non-attending mode):
-> G. Minda, Postmodern Legal Movements: Law and Jurisprudence at Century's End (New York University Press, 1996).
Since the library service of the University is not fully available, you can easily download the entire book from the JSTOR platform by clicking on this link.
Please remember that in order to be considered “attending” and download the materials and tutorials, you have to enrol in the course: you can do it by clicking on the icon “Registrati al Corso” (Enrol Me) in the bottom of the page, and then inserting your data (see the image attached below). This option will be possible only until March 22: after this date, enrolment will not be possible anymore this year and you will be necessarily considered as “non-attending”. Please, enrol in the course only if you are willing to write the paper.
> Remember to read carefully all the material in preparation for the beginning of the course and constantly check this page! In the next days, I will upload more lecture notes which will replace lost lessons. Check also constantly the Moodle Platform: I will upload resources there too.
