Il corso è tenuto in lingua inglese.
The uniqueness of the Internet does not reside in the instantaneous circulation of information and images that largely preceded it, but in the unexpected possibility given to over a billion individuals to easily exchange information and images. This massive, atomised and interactive phenomenon has given rise to a series of problems we will try to identify and understand. These problems entangle authors’ rights, freedom of speech, unlawful reproduction of a person’s image, right to privacy, confidentiality of correspondence, protection of others’ rights and, of course, private international law (questions pertaining to the formation, validity and execution of contracts concluded over the Internet will not, however, be addressed).
Starting from existing, concrete situations, this presentation will be less about transmitting knowledge than about asking questions, confronting lines of reasoning and observing how the law appropriates notions of common sense, such as information, images, and circulation, in order to redefine them as it pleases.Testi consigliati e bibliografia
