Seminario “The Challenges of Internet Governance” (3 CFU)

Pubblicato: Lunedì 2 maggio 2022

Sono aperte le iscrizioni al seminario “The Challenges of Internet Governance”. Il seminario si svolgerà in modalità online, in inglese, ed è costituito dai seguenti appuntamenti:

Roxana Radu, International Law & Policy, CyberPeace Institute (Geneva)
The standing of Internet governance grew over time from a technical area to a foreign policy imperative. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the process of digitization all around the world. Yet, we are far from finding a balance between the risks and opportunities that come with it. Policymakers are now confronted with cross-sectoral concerns combining socioeconomic, political, and ethical dilemmas simultaneously, for example in addressing the challenges of content moderation, of the sharing economy or in advancing digital rights. Cybersecurity and data protection continue to be critical points of deliberation, while technology-driven transformations, such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and AI, have imposed a wider public debate. This module focuses on points of control for the Internet and inherent tensions around them, which drive both governance design and power arrangements in the digital era.

20 June (13.00-15.30) - The internet: from a physical construct to a governance arrangement
21 June (13.00-15.30) - Cyber harms and approaches
22 June (13.00-15.30) - Cyber power vs court
23 June (13.00-15.30) - The future of Internet governance

André Janssen, Radboud University (The Netherlands)
27, 28, 29, 30 June 2022 (dalle 15.00 alle 17.30): Legal Tech, the Enforcement of Private Law and the Regulation of AI
