Programma

In the last decades, the Westphalian concepts of sovereignty of the State has been questioned in the face of the transformation of the international legal system. International governance has become multilevel governance, and the State is neither the sole, nor necessarily the primary, actor thereof. This course will investigate the changing role of the State in international governance and the rise of global law. It explores the multidimensional nature of the legal orders in a globalized word, focusing on how supranational intergovernamental organizations interact on the global scene.
