Experiential teaching in the form of a legal clinic to prepare the future European digital jurist on tech-law related issues such as privacy, blockchain, platforms, tokens, artificial intelligence.

This activity meets the legal needs of startup companies with the knowledge and interest of the Turin Law School’s final-years students. Startups submit to the activity’s steering committee a legal issue they need to solve. The students, working in groups and under the supervision of expert lawyers and academics, tailor the case solution to the startup’s needs.

Programma

According to the "learning by doing "method, each group of students will work with a case
provided by an entrepreneur/startup, to provide them legal support in designing or marketing new services or products or solving a legal issue they they are currently facing in their activity. The teachers and the tutors will support  and supervise the students in the advancement of their projects, which will be presented at the end of the clinic to the startups to which the students have been assigned.

Typically, students meet with their assigned tutor, then with the entrepreneur/startup a first time, then work on the solution of the case uner the supervision of their tutor, prepare a short written text to explain their solution, and then present their solution to the entrepreneur/startup.

The course also aims to initiate students in the use of one or more legal databases for the retrieval of regulatory sources, case law and doctrinal materials, as well as in the analysis of concrete legal cases to develop their argumentative skills, and finally in the production of short legal texts (legal opinions or briefs). These activities are part of a training programme aimed at providing each student with useful skills to develop the ability to interpret and apply the law, required by the world of professions.
